Antique Bronze Ritual Handheld Bell – D6 (1180Hz)

Size: 10 x 4 ¼ inches (25 x 11 cm). Weight: 1 lb 15 oz (877 grams)

This is a superb large antique bronze handheld Temple Bell or ghanta that was formerly used by a priest on ritual and ceremonial occasions. The top features a Trident and Sudarshana Chakra, the spinning disc-like weapon of the Hindu God Lord Vishnu or his avatars.

This rare antique handbell is an exceptionally fine specimen, much larger and heavier than most, beautifully cast by the lost wax method, and in superb condition for its age, and having the aged bronze colour of antiquity. It is a unique one-off item that will appeal to practitioners and collectors alike.

The rung note is a sixth octave D (1180Hz).

When you buy, handle, and ring this antique temple bell you can be confident that it is a genuine and revered holy instrument that has played an important part in countless sacred rituals and ceremonies for at least 100 years. It is a fascinating and beautiful object in its own right, with the look and feel of antiquity…but perhaps more importantly, when it is rung one can sense the spiritual energy, power and purpose with which it is imbued, and the present ineffably connects to the past.

Listen to this bell.
