Timor Female Fertility or Ancestor Figure

This is a curvaceous nude female fertility or ancestor figure standing with her hands resting together on her belly.  This gesture, together with the full breasts and prominent pubic region, strongly suggests that she may have been associated with fertility.   Carved in hardwood, there is a small ancient chip on the forehead, but otherwise this beautiful and sensual figure is in excellent condition, with a lovely patina of age and use.  It was collected in Timor in the 1980s.
