Thadobati Tibetan Singing Bowl – Rare & Powerful A3 Note

Availability: In Stock

Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl.  A Note (Third Eye Chakra)
Weight 2 lb 2 ¾ oz (984g).   18.5 x 10 cm (approx. 7 ¼ x 4 inches)

Tibetan Singing BowlThis large antique Thadobati Singing Bowl has an exceptionally powerful voice whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a ringer.  It is extremely responsive and easy to play. The fundamental struck note is a rare, fantastic, and resounding third octave A.  It has one of the longest sustains I have ever heard from a bowl of this type.  The played note is the same powerful A note accompanied by subtle G sharp 3 and Eb5 harmonic overtones when a suede ringer is used.  A wooden ringer brings out an amazing fifth octave E Flat.

This is quite a heavy high-sided bowl of typical Thadobati proportions.  It is in good structural condition, clean and virtually stain-free, but it’s been around a long time and most of its former decorative features have all but disappeared with use.  However, this is still a very attractive bowl with a really superb voice.

Listen: (1 struck note and 2 played notes)
