Antique Thadobati Singing Bowl – Concert Pitch C4 Note

Availability: In Stock
Price: £0.00

Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl.  C Note (Root Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 13 ½ oz (836g).   18.5 x 9 cm (approx. 7 ¼ x 3 ½ inches)

This is a nice quality medium-weight Thadobati Singing Bowl with a virtually concert pitch middle C fundamental.  The note is the same whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.

Antique Thadobati Singing BowlThis high-walled and straight-sided bowl has typical Thadobati proportions.  It has an interesting lip of the fold-over type more commonly seen on some older Lingam bowls.  The outer rim is decorated with a necklace of sun motifs (punched dots within circles) and the inside floor has several decorative concentric circles.

This old bowl has seen a lot of use in its lifetime.  The walls are now quite smooth and the decorative features are less prominent.  However, the bowl has retained all of its structural integrity, is good to look at (and stain free), has great colour, and a lovely feel to it.  It is a particularly nice bowl to hold and play.

A double-ended teak and suede striker/ringer is included in the price.

Listen: (2 struck notes and 1 played note)
