Antique Remuna-Lingam. Notes D4 & G#5 (Sacral & Throat Chakras)

Weight 589 grams (1 lb 5 oz). Size 15 x 9 cm (6  x 3 ½ inches)

This is an exquisite rare small antique Remuna-Lingam Singing Bowl with two fabulous voices…a middle octave D4 (290Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  And a fifth octave G#5 (808Hz) harmonic when played around the rim with a wooden ringer.

This Remuna-Lingam Singing Bowl has the body and sonic characteristics of a Remuna bowl with its fine globular form, sheered lip and decorative bands encircling the belly...but with the rare added feature of a lingam surrounded by circles at its centre, and a matching navel or yoni underneath.

Lingam bowls have a very distinctive sound, and Remuna bowls are renowned for their beautiful voices and ease of play.  This lovely bowl is exceptionally responsive and combines the best of both worlds.

It has been superbly crafted with the finest of walls and is therefore light for its size. It fits snugly in the palm of the hand and is an absolute delight to play.

This bowl is believed to date from the early 19th century.  It is in excellent structural condition, clean and stain-free.  It has a nice golden antique bronze colour and an aged patina.

A Tibetan silk brocade bowl cushion and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.

Listen: (3 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede ringer then wood).
