Old Himalayan Ultabati Singing & Fountain Bowl.   C & G Notes (Root & Throat Chakras)
Weight 4 lb 15 oz (2.2 kilos).   33 x 15 cm (approx. 13 x 6 inches)

This must surely be one of the most beautiful old bowls to behold with its clean golden bronze interior and collar, and gloriously mottled exterior.   This is a really huge Ultabati singing bowl with 13-inch diameter.  At 2.2 kilos it is also a heavy bowl, but its fine superbly crafted walls make it relatively light for its exceptional size.  It features an excellent grooved downward-sloping lip, a series of concentric circles on the inside floor and above and below the golden collar.

Ultabati Singing BowlThis stunning old bowl has a powerful and beautiful sound…a low 2nd Octave C fundamental that goes on and on when struck with a padded mallet, and a truly wonderful 3rd Octave G when played around the rim with a heavy suede ringer.  With a little water inside it will also readily produce fountains.

Ultabati singing bowls of this size and quality are extremely rare, and the excellent and clean condition of this one suggests that it has served some ceremonial or musical purpose during its lifetime.

A large brocade bowl cushion, a heavy teak and suede ringer, and a padded mallet are all included in the price.

Ultabati Singing Bowl

Listen (1 struck and 1 played note.)

Audio Note:  The recording has placed emphasis on the F Sharp 3 harmonic, but in reality it is the lower 2nd octave C that one hears when the bowl is struck.

Note: As this is an unusually heavy bowl there will be a surcharge to cover the additional cost of shipping and insurance to destinations outside the UK.  Overseas buyers will later be invoiced at cost for any shipping and insurance shortfall (estimated to be around $100 to USA and Canada).
