Tibetan Jambati Singing Bowl – Superb!

Availability: In Stock

Large Antique Tibetan Jambati Singing Bowl.  E note (Solar Plexus)
Weight 3 lb 3 ¾ oz (1.47 kilos).   25 x 12.5cm (approx. 9 ¾ x 5 inches)

This handsome old bowl is simply superb, and is certainly one of the best of its kind in our collection.  It has a beautifully smooth deep-sided body with a low belly that gently curves in towards its rounded base.  I cannot speak too highly of this bowl.  The craftsmanship is amazing.  It has a rare grace and simplicity of form that is complimented by its minimal decoration…a finely grooved lip, just a double circle at its centre, and a collar below the outer rim.  The condition is outstanding...clearly it has been loved and well-cared for.

This bowl’s stunning good looks are matched by an incredibly beautiful voice…a low third octave E that's just about as good as it gets…not quite concert pitch…but utterly wonderful!  It’s the same superb note whether struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim.  The stuck note has an excellent sustain, while the played note builds to a rhythmic and pulsating climax!  A large brocade bowl cushion and a teak and suede ringer are included in the price.

This is an amazing bowl – and I may just keep it, so buy it now to avoid disappointment!
