Antique Jambati Singing Bowl.   Notes: Eb4 (Solar Plexus)

Weight 1 lb 4 oz. (566 grams).   Size 20 x 8.5 cm (7 ¾ x 3 ½ inches)

This small antique Jambati bowl has exceptionally fine smooth walls that give rise to multiple harmonics when played around the rim depending on the type of ringer and the method employed.  The fundamental struck note is middle Eb (309Hz).  The played note is the same Eb4 with a suede ringer but readily switches to a fifth octave D (585Hz) and even a low G#2.  A wooden ringer will produce D4 (298Hz) and Bb5 (934Hz).

This surface of this old bowl has been worn smooth over the years and there are no decorative features remaining.  However, it is structurally sound, clean, and free of stains and blemishes.  The simplicity of form, its fine walls, and harmonics are its distinguishing features.

A small striker and 2 different ringers are included in the price.

Listen: (3 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede ringer then wood)
