Graceful Large 11” Antique Jambati Singing Bowl – Stunning F3 and C5 Voices

This large 19th Century Jambati Singing Bowl has a particularly graceful form and two stunning voices…a third octave F3 (170Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer, and a fifth octave C5 (520hz) harmonic with a wooden one.

It has an attractive gently curved wall and a rounded bottom, and a triangulated lip.  There are boldly incised decorative lines encircling the outer rim, and circles at its centre.

This lovely old bowl is showing signs of long use and some wear to its smooth outer wall, but it remains strong and structurally sound.  It is clean and stain-free on the outside but with some light staining inside that can probably be removed if desired.  Its superior quality is evidenced by finely hammered walls that make it relatively light for its size.

It has the look and feel of antiquity, and is very responsive and a real delight to hold and play.
