Unusual Antique Tibetan Thadobati Singing Bowl.   G Note (Throat Chakra)
Weight 1 lb 4 ¾ oz (586g).   18.5 x 8.5 cm (approx. 7 ¼ x 3 ½ inches)

This antique singing bowl has a very unusual ‘flowerpot’ form with a wide mouth and straight wall that tapers down to a much smaller flat base.  It has a smooth gently sloping and inward-facing lip and some incised lines forming a collar below the outer rim.  This unusual singing bowl has an attractive golden colour, and its condition is very good.

The fundamental struck note is a rather nice 3rd Octave G.  The rim note is the same when played with a suede ringer, but changes to a 5th Octave E Flat if a wooden one is used.

An interesting bowl with a nice voice, that will appeal to collectors looking for something a little different.  A double-ended teak and suede ringer is included in the price.

Listen (2 struck notes and 2 played notes with suede and wood ringers)
