Manipuri bowls have become increasingly rare in recent years.  This is a nice mediums size antique Manipuri Singing Bowl with a grooved lip and multiple decorative lines encircling the outer rim. 

The fundamental note is a third octave A3 (225Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  The rim note changes to a fifth octave E5 (642Hz) with a wooden ringer.  It is a responsive bowl and easy to play.

It is in good structural condition, clean and stain-free, with a bright golden bronze colour.
