Antique Remuna-Lingam. Notes C4 & F#5 (Root & Heart Chakras)

Weight 409 grams (0 lb 14 oz). Size 13.5 x 7 cm (5 ¼ x 2 ¾ inches)

This is a rare small antique Remuna-Lingam Singing Bowl with two nice voices…a middle octave C4 (264Hz) fundamental when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  And a fifth octave F#5 (808Hz) harmonic when played around the rim with a wooden ringer.

This Remuna-Lingam Singing Bowl has the body and sonic characteristics of a Remuna bowl with its fine slightly globular wall, sheered lip and decorative bands encircling the rim and belly...but with the rare added feature of a lingam surrounded by circles at its centre, and a matching navel or yoni underneath.

Lingam bowls have a very distinctive sound, and Remuna bowls are renowned for their beautiful voices and ease of play.  This lovely bowl is exceptionally responsive and eager to play and combines the best of both worlds.

It has been superbly crafted with the finest of walls and is therefore light for its size. It fits nicely in the palm of the hand and is an absolute delight to play.

This late 19th century bowl is in excellent structural condition, basically clean and stain-free, with an aged patina.

Two different ringers are included in the price.
