Antique Jambati Singing Bowl.   Note: Eb3 (Solar Plexus)

Weight 2 lb 4 oz. (1.02 kilos).   Size 24 x 11 cm (9 ¼ x 4 ¼ inches)

This is a medium-size Antique Jambati Singing Bowl with a graceful form and finely hammered walls, making it relatively light for its size and therefore comfortable to hold and play for an extended period if required.

The fundamental note is an excellent third octave Eb (157Hz) when struck with a padded mallet or played around the rim with a suede ringer.  It has a pronounced pulse and a good sustain.  The rim note changes to  a middle B (480Hz) with a wooden ringer.

It has a level triangulated lip, and a single decorative line forming a collar around the outer rim.  This is an older bowl and its outer surface is now sensually smooth with long use, although the circles at its centre are no-longer present.

This attractive Jambati bowl is in excellent structural condition and virtually free of stains and blemishes.

A Tibetan silk brocade cushion, a padded striker, and a double-ended teak and suede ringer are included in the price.

Listen: (2 struck notes and 2 played notes, suede ringer then  wood)
